1.英语励志的小短文 篇一
There is no better school than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve my performance next time. Never again will I contribute to my downfall by refusing to face the truth and learn from my past mistakes. Because I know: gems cannot shine without polish, and I can not perfect myself without hardship.
Now I know that there are no times in life when opportunity, the chance to be and do gathers so richly about my soul when it has to suffer cruel adversity. Then everything depends on whether I raise my head or lower it in seeking help. Whenever I am struck down, in the future, by any terrible defeat, I will inquire of myself, after the first pain has passed, how I can turn that adversity into good. What a great opportunity that moment may present……to take the bitter root I am holding and transform it into fragrant garden of flowers.
Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every adversity.
2.英语励志的小短文 篇二
Swallows may have gone, but there is a time of return; willow trees may have died back, but there is a time of re greening; peach blossoms may have fallen, but they will bloom again. Now, you the wise, tell me, why should our days leave us, never to return? — If they had been stolen by someone, who could it be? Where could he hide then? If they had made the escape themselves, then where could they stay at the moment?
I do not know how many days I have been given to spend, but I do feel my hands are getting empty. Taking stock silently, I find that more than eight thousand days has already slid away from me. Like a drop of water from the point of a needle disappearing into the ocean, my days are dripping into the stream of time, soundless, trace less. Already sweat is starting on my forehead, and tears welling up in my eyes.
Those that have gone have gone for good, those to come keep coming; yet in between, how swift is the shift, in such a rush? When I get up in the morning, the slanting sun marks its presence in my small room in two or three oblongs. The sun has feet, look, he is treading on, lightly and furtively; and I am caught, blankly, in his revolution. Thus — the day flows away through the sink when I wash my hands, wears off in the bowl when I eat my meal, passes away before my day-dreaming gaze as I reflect in silence. I can feel his haste now, so I reach out my hands to hold him back, but he keeps flowing past my withholding hands. In the evening, as I lie in bed, he strides over my body, glides past my feet, in his agile way. The moment I open my eyes and meet the sun again, one whole day has gone. I bury my face in my hands and heaves sigh. But the new day begins to flash past in the sigh.
What can I do, in this bustling world, with my days flying in their escape? Nothing but to hesitate, to rush. What have I been doing in that eight-thousand-day rush, apart from hesitating? Those bygone days have been dispersed as smoke by a light wind, or evaporated as mist by the morning sun. What trace shave I left behind me? Have I ever left behind any gossamer traces at all? I have come to this world, stark-naked; am I to go back, in a blink, in the same stark-nakedness?It is not fair though: why should I have made such a trip for nothing!You the wise, tell me, why should our days leave us, never to return?
3.英语励志的小短文 篇三
When love beckons to you, follow him, though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold you, yield to him, though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. And when he speaks to you, believe in him, though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning. Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun, so shall he descend to our roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
But if, in your fear, you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure, then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing-floor, into the season less world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears. Love gives naught but it self and takes naught but from itself. Love possesses not, nor would it be possessed, for love is sufficient unto love.
Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself. But if you love and must have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a payer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
4.英语励志的小短文 篇四
I want to be a teacher when I listen to my teacher carefully. I think I can be a teacher when I grow up.
I can help many students learn things well. I can play with my students, too. So we are good friends. I want to be a doctor when I see many doctors save their patients. To be a doctor is really great. I think I can be a doctor when I grow up.
Then I can help many people out of danger. I will be the happiest girl in the world. I want to be a reporter when I watch TV every evening. We can get lots of important information from them. They make the world smaller and also make us happy. I would like to be a reporter when I grow up.
And I can learn a lot about China and the other countries around the world. I can meet many superstars as well. I have lots of dreams. I think my dreams can come true one day, because there’s an old saying “where there is a will, there is a way.”
5.英语励志的小短文 篇五
A young friend of mine asked me in a letter, "What kind of man should I be?" My answer was, "Be a fighter."
Another friend of mine inquired, "How should I live my life?" Again my answer was, "Be a fighter."
The author of In Praise of the Fighter says:
Riding on the ceaseless rushing torrent of life, I should pursue and overtake it so as to create an even greater and deeper torrent of my own.
If I were a lamp, it would be my duty to light up thick darkness. If I were the sea tide, I would marshal rolling waves to cleanse the beach of all accumulated filth.
This quotation reflects aptly the state of mind of a lighter.
Fighters are badly needed in our time. But such fighters do not necessarily go to the battle- field gun in hand. Their weapons are not necessarily bullets. Their weapons may be knowledge, faith and strong will. They can bring the enemy sure death without drawing his blood.
A fighter is always in pursuit of light. Instead of basking in the sunshine under a clear sky, he holds a burning torch in the darkness of night to illuminate people's way so that they can continue their journey till they see the dawn of a new day. It is the task of a fighter to dispel darkness. Instead of shirking darkness, he braves it and fights the hidden demons and monsters therein. He is determined to wipe them out and win light. He knows no compromise. He will keep on fighting until he wins light.
A fighter is perennially young. He is never irresolute or inactive. He plunges deep into teeming crowds in search of such vermin as flies and venomous mosquitoes. He will fight them relentlessly and refuse to coexist with them under the same sky. To him, life means nothing but continuous fighting. He either survives by winning light, or perishes with his body covered all over with cuts and bruises. In the course of the struggle, it is the "future" that serves as the beacon light to him; the "future" gives people hope and inspiration. He will never lose his youthful vigor.
6.英语励志的小短文 篇六
When someone looks into your eyes they should see something alive within you. Having a dream is like owning a lighthouse1 which directs you on your journey.
At every turn we come across its mystery. At each new level we become more of the person we were meant to become. In lonely times, when we pass through a storm of disappointment, we find our faith is unshaken, our strength still strong.
Believe in your faith. Set the vision before your eyes. Write down your most sincere dreams and when the opportunity comes, step into your dream. It may take one season or more, but the result is the same. Make big dreams and then go out and make them realities. The highest hopes of the dreamer are revealed with every step taken in their journey to the impossible. For a season we must protect the dream so that it can grow quietly on the inside. But if we tenderly care for our deepest expectations, slowly but surely the dream will become new life.
Dreaming is an act of faith. The light of your expectations will cast off the shadows of a disbelieving world. God has given us the dreamer as a gift to light an unbelieving world.
Find your treasure within and cherish it. Tomorrow is waiting for you to take the first step.
7.英语励志的小短文 篇七
Some people go through life standing at the excuse counter.
They say they’d like to do this or that, but then they offer all the excuses in the world for why they can’t do whatever it is. No matter what the excuses are, the only thing that is usually limiting them is their own self-perception.
If I’ve learned anything, I’ve learned that a person —any person —may do anything they set their mind on doing. The things you need are willingness to work for what you want, patience to learn what you need to know and, most important of all, belief in yourself. You only need a seed, and then your faith in yourself will grow with you as you move forward.
If your self-perception is that you can’t accomplish something because you’re not smart enough, then take the time to learn what you need to know, and then your self-perception will change.
If your self-perception is that you can’t accomplish something because you never finish anything you start, then go and finish something and change your self- perception.
If your self-perception is that you’re too lazy, too busy, too unworthy, too unfocused, too depressed, or too dependent on others to accomplish great things, then you’re right. You are that because you believe you are, but in fact, you can change that! Life is change, and the past doesn’t equal the future. Your reality today is the result of your past beliefs and actions. Change your beliefs and actions, and you will change your future. Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right. You are what you think.
Think about that the next time you need an excuse.
8.英语励志的小短文 篇八
A farmer friend once told me his own story.
That day, I dragged the heavy cart wearily to the foot of the mountain. Looking ahead at the long ascent, I could not help but recoil in fear. Thought, today on their own a person absolutely can not pull up, must have someone to help a line, is difficult, just happened to come over a warm-hearted passer-by. He saw my dilemma and said, "It's okay. I'll help you." Said, convenient landing rolled up sleeves, opened a pair of cart posture.
So, I clenched my teeth and pulled hard. In the warm people "come on, come on" the sound of the drum, we finally pulled the car to the top of the slope. When I thanked the warm-hearted man for his help, he said, "You don't need to thank me. I have sprained my back these two days and I can't exert myself at all. I was just yelling 'Come on'. It's up to you to pull this wagon up."
The story of my farmer friend reminds me that the road of life is not the same. A famous man once said, "All that is easy is downhill." The road of life is not smooth, it is not easy to go forward without effort. Many times, just because we give up trying, we miss the opportunity to succeed in vain. The result is a half-assed, fruitless return.
9.英语励志的小短文 篇九
The day before yesterday, I passed a real estate with Sasha. Sasha pointed to a house near the highway and said to me proudly, "Look at the 12th floor of that building. It will be my home."
I looked at her in surprise, and then I could not help admiring the girl from the bottom of my heart.
Remember a few years ago, Sasa was the one pulling suitcases and moving every three months. At that time, Sasha had just arrived in Chengdu, had no place to stand, had just started her job, was living a tight life, she rented the cheapest house - of course, living in such a house, there must be a lot of problems. A 70-square-meter house was separated from a dozen rooms. At night, other roommates played cards, drank, chatted and watched TV dramas, and the noise was so loud that people could not fall asleep. Sometimes I meet roommates who don't like hygiene. I don't throw away the garbage in front of the door for four or five days. In the hot summer, the room stinks.
Once, the landlord kicked her out less than half a month after she moved in. It was a cold, windy night. She packed up, packed up, found an all-night fast food restaurant, ordered a cup of coffee, and made it through the night.
Sasa said it was the most desperate moment of her life. She wondered if she would be adrift for the rest of her life, if she really could no longer pursue her dreams here. Thinking of the sad place, she began to cry, and even gave up, thinking that it was better to go back home. But finally, she gritted her teeth to come over, with steadfast efforts and strong will to reverse their own life.
10.英语励志的小短文 篇十
Since the book was published, I have often received messages from various aspects, the question is nothing more than how to get rid of loneliness, how to look at the future, how to look at the dream. Often I didn't know how to answer them until New Year's Day, when I was still writing at 4 am and closed my computer, bleary-eyed, I suddenly realized: Those who like you will not like you one day, those you grasp will one day not catch, those you want to realize the dream may not be realized at all, those who once thought very important will one day become unimportant.
But it doesn't really matter. Years later, when you look back, the only thing that makes you feel real and proud is that you walked through life with your head held high.
I may never get rid of the so-called loneliness, also can not see the so-called future, also can not understand why so hard to realize the dream, but I still do it. For example, if I told you the ending of her relationship at the beginning of the theater, you would say it doesn't matter, I know, I still love you, or you would turn away. If it were me, I would definitely like her again, that's all.
I would rather let others think that I am a Transformer poison does not penetrate every aspect of tireless, I don't let others see me sad tired fall down lost. I don't like to complain, because I know no one likes to hear complaints.
